National Leadership Conference 2016

Thank you for your prayers for our Leadership Conference. Praise the Lord, we had 16 people that surrendered their lives to serve our Lord and Savior full time! We also had an attendance of 550 people and among them, we had 44 Pastors, assistant Pastors and Missionaries attending our Conference. We had the privilege to have the following guest speakers during our conference: Pastor Kevin Wynne, from Mexico City; Pastor Luis Ramos, from San Luis Potosí; Pastor Luis Parada, from Long Beach, CA; Pastor Oscar Galvan, from Sahuarita, AZ; Pastor Gil Torres, from San Diego, CA; and Pastor Alejandro Cordova, from Celaya, GTO. All of them were used by God greatly to bring exactly what we needed!

20,000 Tracts – Battle of Puebla Parade

As we do every year, we were able to go early on the morning of “Cinco de Mayo” and give 20,000 tracts just before the Battle-of-Puebla-Parade started. Our family had 1,000 tracts, and we gave them out in less than 30 minutes. One young men that we sitting waiting for the parade to start, helped my oldest son Japheth, to give out some tracts to the group of people around him. I even took some pictures of this “unbeliever” helping us give away these Gospel tracts! Praise the Lord many, many people were reading these tracts, and I am sure, many got saved!

Update on New Property

I would like to thank all those who had been praying for the purchase of our new church property. The owner accepted our proposal and within 30 days we were able to come up with the first 1 million pesos! We only had 300k and God provided the rest through a series of miracles. The first one is that our church gave an extra 300k pesos within 20 days! The last miracle is that we were still short 120k pesos and a brother from another church new about our need and gave the rest of the money! We are so excited about this answer to prayer. We have been looking for a new place for our church for quite-a-while. This new place has 800 square meters of land and is a little over three times the size of our current place. Our 14th anniversary is the first week of July and we would like to have our first service in the new place by then. Pray that this will happen!

Naason Joaquin Garcia

Few days ago, my wife and I were witnessing to a man named Raul Jimenez. We were in an area that is inundated with people from a sect named “Luz del Mundo” (Light of the World). This sect buys and rents houses all around their main church, and is very difficult to find people that does not attend this church. This sect is very similar to the Mormon church; it is like the Mexican version of it. They worship an “Apostle” named Naasón Joaquín García. Anyway, after I was done talking to Raul, I asked him if he wanted to pray and ask God to save him; he, without hesitation, bowed his head and started to pray by himself, a very honest prayer for God to save him. Praise the Lord for God’s grace, and for one more person going to Heaven!

Prayer Request

Please pray that we can sell our current church building at a good price and fast! so we can finish paying the new church property. The owner is giving us three months after the first down payment to pay the rest of the money for the new property. Thank you!

Our 2014 Leadership Conference in Puebla

What a blessing it was to host again our Annual Leadership Conference here in Puebla. We had a great number of people coming from different Churches and States, as well as Pastors. This year we had nine people surrendering for full-time-service! What a privilege to see more laborers willing to go to the fields to reach more souls for Christ!

We had also great speakers coming to our conference to preach. We had Pastor Ezequiel Salazar from Ontario, CA, Pastor Luis Parada from Long Beach, CA and Pastor Alejandro Cordova from Celaya, Guanajuato. All of them were a tremendous blessing! Our church had a week of praying and fasting (different people for one day) and we sure saw God working in everybody’s hearts!

This year, on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th, same day our conference started) we went out to the parade that is organized in our city every year, and we gave out 20,000 tracts! What a blessing it was to see many of our church members taking charge and going out to the streets of Puebla and giving the Gospel to the people of Puebla. Our goal this year is to give out 170,000 tracts. Please pray for us so that we can permeate Puebla with the Gospel.

May 14th by Arturo Munoz

In the month of February my wife and I had the opportunity to visit our church in Puebla for few days. The main reason was that my assistant Pastor, Cristian, got married. The wedding was in Mexico City, and Pastor Arandai married Cristian and Cynthia. They are now happily married back in our church in Puebla, serving the Lord!

Cristian y Cynthia's wedding

On Sunday the 17th, I preached all three services in our church. What a blessing it was to see the Christians we love the most — our own church. We miss them very much and can’t wait to be back in June or July. During our time there we had five visitors in the morning and three more Sunday night. I also had the privilege to baptist seven believers. One of them, Leonardo, was studying to be a Catholic priest. About eight months ago, while soulwinning with Brother Manuel Garcia, we gave Leonardo’s mom a track and invited her to church. She got saved and came with her thirty year old son. Leonardo got saved in our church, tuned from Catholicism to God and from wanting to be a Catholic priest to serve the Lord faithfully winning souls for Him. What a blessing it was to baptize him, his mom, his sister and his nephew!

Leonardo's nephew Wife Husband Cristian (not my assistant Pastor) Loonardo's sister Leonardo - Was studying to be a Priest but got saved Leonardo's Mom

That same Sunday we sent my brother-in-law Alejandro, my sister and their three kids to start a church in Cuajinicuilapa – try to say that 5 times! Cuaji, for short, is on the south part of the country, on the coast, near Acapulco. As you might know, Acapulco was just considered the second most dangerous city in the country of Mexico. Please remember them in your prayers and if you are looking for more missionaries to take, they are worth taking. They went under-supported, and any additional giving will be big blessing to them. They have about 7 churches supporting them right now. My sister, Aglaee Munoz, graduated from Oklahoma Baptist College and my brother-in-law graduated from our Bible Institute of Puebla last year.

The following Sunday we were in a Missions Conference in Santa Ana, CA at Bethel Baptist Church. This church has been a tremendous blessing to our ministry. Their support and prayers through the years has always been there. I had the opportunity to present what God is doing with their faith promise in Puebla. We had a good time. Pastor Dan Davidson still the Pastor after all these years, serving the Lord, and always with a smile.

And Yesterday we were in two churches. In the morning service we had the blessing to be at North Hills Baptist Church of San Marcos, CA. Sunday was their Charter Sunday, were they finally became their own church with Pastor David Hetzer as the Pastor. Congratulations! We took the following picture just before the church service:

The Munoz Family

And Sunday night we were at Temple Baptist Church of Perris, CA. The Pastor of the church graduated from Oklahoma Baptist College and is doing an excellent job in this church. I believe he took over the church about three years ago with 100 people, and now they are running over 300 people. Next Sunday they are having two Sunday Morning Services to accommodate more people. Their welcome video is one of the best church videos I have ever seen. If you are planning to make one for your church, take this one for consideration, as it has an excellent outline and powerful message.

After their evening service, we stayed to present our ministry to the Spanish church. Pastor Emilio Llausás has been the Spanish Pastor of the church in Perris, CA for the last 40 years. I believe God used the message to encourage the people to continue serving the Lord. The Pastor said that they might take us on for support!

When we left our church few months ago, we only had 17 churches supporting us. Right now we have 21 and we are praying for 30, so that we can go back to Mexico and continue with the ministry that God has given us. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you.

Sincerely,

Arturo Munoz and Family

Our First month in the States

Altar time after preaching in Lighthouse Baptist Church in San Diego, CA (Spanish Ministry)

Altar time after preaching at Lighthouse Baptist Church in San Diego, CA (Spanish Ministry)

God has been very good to us in our first month of furlough here in the States. Our goal is to be able to raise more support. Praise the Lord God is answering that prayer and already we have had a church taking us on (Faith Baptist Church in Canoga Park, CA, Pastor Tim Rasmussen) and some others praying about it. We praise the Lord for that.

We enrolled our kids in the Christian school near Oceanside, CA at West Coast Baptist Church in Vista, CA. This is the school were my wife Nicole used to be a teacher. The Pastor always reminds me that I took his “best” teacher. Our kids are happy to go to a “regular” school and have friends to play with!

David and Hannah getting saved!

One of the most exciting things about the trip so far was on Sunday night September 2nd when our twins got saved! Both of them have been insisting for a while to get saved. I always like to wait until they are six and know how to read. (They will also remember this special time better at this age). I like for them to read by themselves John 3:16 and then go through the Bible and explain how to be saved. This time we did it few weeks before they turned six. They were very happy to know that Jesus now lives in their hearts and that they are saved!

Also, we just celebrated our twins birthday on September the 29th. David and Hannah had their own cake. This is their “big” birthday! We have a “big” birthday every 3 years for our kids. (When they turn 3,6,9,etc.) That way we don’t have so many expenses when it comes time for their birthday. Normally in Mexico we have a pinata and invite the whole church family. We have a cook out in our backyard and have some inflatables. This time we just bought some “extra toys” for them and invited the family over. Their grandpa bought passes for the whole family to go to Lego Land and they were happy with that. We were too! David said to me: “This is the best birthday every!!!” Praise the Lord for that.

Our Church in Puebla

Last Sunday night I preached to our church in Puebla using Skype. Our church family misses us tremendously. What a blessing to know that they love us so much and that they can’t wait for us to return. They all paid attention to the screen while I preached about the family from Luke 19:9. They actually pay more attention when I preach from far away than when I am actually there! Many say that it is like TV 🙂 So, I might stay here in the States and preach from here every Sunday. Just kidding.

Also, last Sunday night our church got flooded with water. It rained so much in Puebla, in the area were the church is, that some blocks were 6 feet under water! (one person died near the church) Our church is on higher ground and only had about 3 inches of water inside our classrooms and the office. Only carpet and some books got wet. On the street the water rose to 1 foot.

Our Bible Institute

Our Bible Institute continues strong. This semester we moved the Bible Institute to morning classes. From Tuesday to Thursday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. We have 12 students and they are all faithful to the many classes that we have. Praise the Lord for the help we are getting from Pastors in the area and Bro. Alejandro and his brother that help in the church while we are gone. Tuesday they preached on the buses during the time of soulwinning. They had never done this before, so they were all scared, but God blessed  them and gave them boldness to preach the Gospel. Many people heard and we hope many made decisions and consider the direction of their souls.

Our Missions Conference

This November 1st we start our annual missions conference in our church in Puebla. We have 4 missionaries that are coming with their families and we can’t wait to see what God will do this year. Lord willing I am flying to Puebla to preach during the missions conference. Please pray for travel safety and that God will use me for His honor and glory. We are also planning to go the different cemeteries in Puebla to give out 25,000 tracts during the day of the dead on Nov. the 2nd. Please pray that many of this tract will be read and that many will get saved. If any of you would like to make plans and visit us this year or next year, you are welcome to come! It is amazing to see thousands of people going to the cemeteries and taking flowers and food to the dead. This is a great opportunity for a missions trip in Mexico!

Also, if your church will hold a missions conference and would like me to present our ministry in your church, please let me know. It will be a blessing and honor to present to your church what God is doing in Puebla, the fourth largest city in Mexico, with over 2 million people that need to hear the Gospel!

God bless you! And lets pray for America and the coming elections!

Ok. I have a lot of news, but this one is the most important right now. We are taking a short furlough to the States, and we are leaving Mexico on August the 24th.

Lord willing we will be driving through Monterrey and then to the border. Please pray for us as we drive from Monterrey to the border on the 25th since that 3 hour drive is a little scary right now. Although I have been asking around, and they say it is ok to drive during the day… and believe me, we are driving during the day.

We are taking this furlough because of finances. We are living through very exciting times here in Mexico right now. But at the same time our finances are not going well. We are going back to California for the period of four months, from September to December. Please pray that more churches will be willing to take us as their missionaries.

The kids are excited as well, we will be able to enroll them in the Christian school in Vista California during the time we are there. Grandpa and grandma are happy for our long “vacation” that we are taking. But actually, we will be very busy going to churches and presenting our work in different places. If you know of a church that is looking into taking “veteran” missionaries in Mexico, please let us know. My cellphone number while in the States is: 760-331-7691.

Bible Institute

While we go to the States, we are going to “run” a Bible Institute in Mexico. Our last semester we gave 6 hours a week of classes. This time, we are changing our Bible Institute to be in the morning time (from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm).  And three times a week. This will make a total of 12 hours a week. We are very excited about this — and a little sad too, because I won’t be here. My brother-in-law Alejandro will be taking over the church during the time we are gone. I am planning to come back to Mexico at least twice to oversee the work and make sure everything is going ok. (I am also suppose to do a wedding on December the 28th).

Trip to Celaya

Every three years there is a very special Bible conference in the city of Celaya, Guanajuato. Bro. Alejandro Cordova is the Pastor there. Our plan was to leave Puebla last Monday and go to the conference, but a dear lady of our church passed away and had to postpone our trip for Wednesday. The name of this dear lady is Mrs. Alicia Andrade. She was a Sunday School teacher for 60 years! (before she and her husband came to our church 7 years ago) Imagine what an impact she had in the life of little boys and girls, as they heard Mrs Andrade give out the class. She was 86 years old. Please pray for her husband and family as they go through this difficult time.

We were able to hear good preaching in Celaya, and see some good friends during the conference. There were over 3,000 people saved through the soulwinning efforts door-to-door during the conference. Also, there were over 3,000 people that attended the conference from different parts of Mexico. Some even from the US, like my friend Darrell Hurst that pastors in Williamsburg, KY. I bought all the preaching in MP3, and if you are interested, you can subscribe to my podcast in iTunes, as I will be uploading them soon there.

Vacation Bible Schools

This coming Tuesday, we are starting our vacation Bible Schools here in Puebla. This time we are going to held them at three different places. Our goal is to one day have VBS in as much as 50 places or colonias at the same time. Please pray that the kids will come and that a good presentation of the Gospel will be given out. Our VBS run from Tuesday through Saturday, so that Sunday, we can bring them to church and give them their diplomas for attending. We are encouraging moms and dads to come and see their kids receive their diplomas and at the same time present the Gospel to them in case they haven’t heard.

Our Mission Church

Iglesia Bautista en Puebla

Minutes before preaching in our Mission Church here in Puebla, Mexico

Our mission church is going well. Bro. Erik let me know that last Sunday night they had 70 in attendance, with no promotions whatsoever! And that Saturday they had 25 people that came to church to go out soulwinning! How exciting. To God be the glory. Puebla is a big city in need of the Gospel. My prayer is that we can start ten more mission churches in Puebla in the next ten years. Pray that you can too be a part of this! Thank you.

Instituto Bautista FE

After 4 years of hard work and much learning, three of our students graduated from our Bible Institute. Brother Alfredo Perez and his wife started attending our Institute since we started four years ago. And Brother Angel Amado started a year ago. He is already Pastoring a church near Puebla. He transferred his credits from a Bible Institute from California. This makes a total of five that have graduated from our Institute. One of them, Bro. Alejandro, is on deputation right now in the States.

Next school year we are moving our Institute to the morning hours. The plan is to have school three times a week, from Tuesday to Thursday, with more hours. (From 8:00 am to 12:00 pm). Please pray for this project as we try to train more people for the Lord here in Mexico.

Missionary Miguel Flores

During our Sunday morning service we had bro. Miguel Flores, who is a missionary in San José de los Cabos in Baja California Sur, here in Mexico. He has already started two churches in the last ten years and now he is on his way to start mission work number three. He was a blessing. He is a man of faith.

Seven Baptisms!

Also, this Sunday morning I had the privilege to baptize seven people. Some of them you know already, like Pablo and his family. I mentioned before that Pablo’s wife searched for help in the Yellow Pages looking for a Christian church. She called our church back in January. And to make the story short, she got saved, her husband a month later and their two daughters. Also the mother-in-law (Pablo’s mom) got saved. So, today, Pablo, his wife, his daughter and his mom got baptized.

Another couple that started to come to church found us because of our sign outside our church. He, Juventino, got saved about a year ago. (He was led to the Lord by a Pastor in another town, and told him to look for a good Christian church) He gave his wife a Bible, and she started reading her Bible a year ago. Soon, she took down the images from the walls of her house. Six months ago, she asked when they were going to go to church. Finally, one day, about a month ago, she told him that she was going to go to church, with him, or without him. She had seen our church and wanted to come to visit us. So… they finally came, and are very, very excited about serving the Lord.

Below is a video of the baptisms. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Pastor Carlos Ramos Visits our Church

This morning we had the privilege to listen to Pastor Ramos preach a really good message in our church about witnessing with boldness. Pastor Ramos has started two churches in Venezuela in the last ten years, and now he is starting a project with the goal to start 70 new churches in Venezuela in the next 15 years. He presented his burden about how this can be done with God’s power and grace. It was a blessing to hear and see what God is doing in Venezuela.

If you would like to find out more about Bro. Ramos, or if God puts in your heart to support his ministry, here is his cellphone number where you can reach him: +58 416-656-1943

I had planned a trip to Venezuela for this last January, but due to finances and some complications that trip was postponed. I hope to visit Venezuela before the year is over. We have two missionaries that we support in that country: Bro. José Luis Fuentes and Bro. Artemio Cid. Both of them graduated from San Luis Potosí Bible College and are doing a tremendous work there.

Soulwinning

Yesterday, during soulwinning, God allowed me to see a young lady saved. Her name is Jeana. Both of my sons, Japheth and David, were with me. This time David said to me: Dad, I liked going out soulwinning with you. It was fun! What a blessing to go out and reach people here in Puebla, specially when the family is with me.

Church

We had a good packed church service this morning. We had one first time visitor and two people saved. One of the people that was saved, was a lady, whose son had visited our church for the last four Sundays. His name is Leo. He has invited his mom to come, and she finally accepted! She was very happy to come and to know that Christ can save her soul. She said she is planning to come every Sunday.

New Nephew

Some of you know my sister Aglaeé and my brother-in-law Alejandro. Both of them are right now on deputation in the States. Right now in the state of NC. My sister called me this last Saturday to let us know that they just had their third child. She actually called 20 minutes after delivering my new nephew! They named him Samuel. I said that they should name him Arturo, but somehow Alejandro didn’t like “that” name. Please pray for my sister’s recovery and for Samuel. Again, if you would like to contact them, here is their cellphone number.  (336) 624-0628 U.S.

If your church has a Spanish church were they can present their ministry, that will be a big blessing for them. God has called them to the State of Guerrero to start a church. Please pray for them as they try to raise their support.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support!

Sincerely,

This morning was a special morning. I had the privilege to baptize our own daughter Sarah. Today was also a special Sunday because we celebrated Easter Sunday — we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also baptized 4 other people of our church. What a blessing is to see our church growing in grace and in numbers. We had 99 adults during our Sunday morning preaching service (not counting the children’s church nor the nursery). Three of them were first time visitors and we had one person accepting Jesus as his personal Savior.

Youth Conference in Cuernavaca, Morelos

From Monday to Wednesday we took our youth group to a Youth Conference in Cuernavaca to Iglesia Bautista Monte Abarim, whose Pastor is Brother Alejandro Ramirez. We had 27 young people from our church plus another 20 from Brother’s Tim Aguiar’s church from East Puebla. A total of 50 attended the conference just from Puebla — What a blessing! — 10 years ago I only took one young man to a youth camp and now there are more young people saved and willing to serve God!

When I went to Cuernavaca to pick up our young people, Bro. Tim Aguiar told me that his mini-bus broke down. The bought a mini-bus few months ago and they helped us take some of our young people. Pastor Alejandro Ramirez let us use one of his fifteen passenger vans to bring our young people back to Puebla. So… I brought 25, and Bro. Tim brought another 25! Praise the Lord we were not stopped and everything went OK! Here is a picture of the ones I brought (missing three on the picture.)

Bro. Manuel Garcia

Today we had Bro. Manuel Garcia, missionary to “maybe Puebla” preach in our church. Bro. Garcia has been a missionary in Guaymas, Sonora for the last 7 years. God has put in his heart to visit the south part of the country of Mexico and see where He would lead him to start another church. We are praying for Puebla for more missionaries. Puebla, I believe, has the least amount of missionaries per capita in the country of Mexico. At the moment we have 3 IFB churches in the city. We surely would love for Bro. Garcia to come to Puebla, but we will wait to see what God has for him. If you don’t know were to go in Mexico as a missionary, please playfully consider the city of Puebla as an option. Please come and help us!

We praise the Lord for the 10 first time visitors that we had today! I don’t know yet how many of them got saved, but at least two of them.

Today we started our spring program to invite people to our church. We have a competition to see who brings the most visitors between the men and the women of our church.

We are giving a small first gift to those who bring their first visitor. After that, the next award is for those that bring 5 visitors and then a bigger gift for those that bring 10 visitors.

Each visitor counts for 200 points. And each repeat visitor during our campaign counts for 100 points. That’s it. The person that bring the most visitors we are going to give them TWO free passes to go to the Restaurante La Estancia Argentina de Puebla. (Which is a very nice restaurant were every stake is worth $35 dollars – to my taste, the best in Puebla.)

The Spring Program will last for 7 weeks. Which will end right before our Big Annual Conference in May. This year we have invited Bro. Luis Ramos from San Luis Potosí, Bro. Luis Parada from Long Beach, CA, Bro. Alejandro Córdova from Celaya, GTO, and Bro. Ezequiel Salazar from Ontario, CA. Please pray that this conference will be a blessing to the preachers, pastors and missionaries in the area, as well as the people from the different churches around Puebla.

Please Pray For More Churches in Puebla

This last Friday I receive a phone call from Bro. Manuel Garcia, a current Pastor in Guaymas, SON. He said that he has been praying to come to Puebla as a missionary. I mentioned to him that we are also praying to start our second mission church here in Puebla in the west side of our city. (About 6 month ago we had a married couples meeting in an area names Tres Cruces ‘three crosses’ and God laid in my hart to start praying for this needed area. About 500,000 people live in the area of our city still unreached. Puebla has over two million people right now!) So, I mentioned all of this to Bro. Garcia and he got all excited about coming to Puebla. He is visiting us for a survey trip next month. We would like to help him to start a church here in Puebla, but we can only help with about $30 or $40 dollars a week.

God has also laid in my heart to start one mission church a year here in the city for the following ten years. Please pray for this project. Maybe God can use you to come and start a church with us and be a blessing to the people of Puebla. My desire is to see dozens if not hundreds of churches that reach the lost here in Puebla.

If you would like to commit to help Bro. Garcia start a church here in Puebla, let me know. I know that were are going to need money to rent a building. Buy some chairs. Get a projector for him and speakers and mics. Maybe you can even pray to buy him a car. I am serious! While he was in Guymas, he said that many churches in the States donated vans for him so he could pick up people to bring to church. He said that he is not bringing any of the vans because they are needed in the church that he started 10 years ago. What a blessing.

Our Missionary Friend

Bethany's Birthday

Bethany's Birthday

Last Saturday we were invited by Bro. Tim Aguiar –our friend here in Puebla — we need more friends like him 🙂 –for his daughter’s birthday. We also met Bro. Dale Aguiar for the second time. He is preaching in Bro. Tim’s church this Monday and Tuesday. We are taking our church over to hear Bro. Dale preach and I know it will be a blessing. It was a blessing to hear him preach in our church about a year and a half ago before his son started his own church in the East side of Puebla.

Our Church Expansion

Last week we also had two architects come and see our church to give us an estimate to know how much will take us to expand our church auditorium. Right now we can only fit 90 people and every Sunday we had to put chairs in the aisles and outside the auditorium. Please keep us in your prayers as we wait and see how God direct us in doing this. We are expecting two more architects this week to come and give us estimates also. We have saved some money, but we still don’t know if it will be enough.

Bibles

If you know of anyone in the States that ships Bibles to Mexico let me know. Lately, we have had many people in our church asking us for Bibles. We need about 50 Bibles right now to give away. People want Bibles but for many of them they are too expensive. If you can donate some Bibles to us, that will be a blessing.

Here in the address where you can ship them, if that is what God puts in your heart:

Iglesia Cristiana Bautista
11 Sur #7904, Col. Mayorazgo
Puebla, PUE 72450

Thank you and God bless you!

Temple Baptist Church in Herdnon, VA

Temple Baptist Church in Herndon, VA

This last Sunday, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit Temple Baptist Church in Herndon, Virginia. We were in the Washington, DC area for few days and we found this church close to the place were we were staying. The nice thing about this church (besides the great bible preaching and friendliness) is that they start at 9:00 AM! So, Nicole and I enjoyed this because the earlier the fresher our minds are, and also we get to do some sightseeing after church. The church was packed! They had over 25 visitors! I wonder if they included us? Anyway. Sunday School was great. And I learned a lot. On of the things I learned was that in the Air Force, one of the things they teach after you pass your Freshman year is this: Every Single Freshman Can Graduate! (This is a 5 point outline!)

  1. Expectations or teaching. (We should teach our kids to have initiative)
  2. Skills or training (Teaching is more than telling… is doing)
  3. Feedback or inspect (Follow up with what you tell your kids to do)
  4. Consequences or discipline (Consequences could be good or back)
  5. Growth (This eventually bring character to your kids and they learn to mature)

Unexpected Funeral

Last Tuesday while I was out of the house visiting some members of our church, my wife got a phone call. They were calling from the States, from the Spanish Church of Fellowship Baptist Church in NC. They wanted us to visit some relatives, specially the father-in-law that was very sick and dieing. Wednesday morning, at about 5 AM, they called us back to let us know that he had already died. The good thing was that he was already saved. In fact I met him about 3 years ago when we went to the States for a short furlough. So, Wednesday morning I went to visit the family to see what we could do for them and how we could help them. At night I had the opportunity to preach to a large crowd in the little village about 30 from Puebla. I preached a clear Bible message on how to get saved. I don’t know if any got saved. No one raised their hand, but I pray that at least someone listened and made a decision. Thursday morning Bro. Alejandro Ruiz, my assistant and brother-in-law went back and preached during the burial. It’s interesting they way they do this in Mexico. Bro. Garcia died Wednesday morning and he was buried the very next day on Thursday!

Our Hospital Ministry

Last week we had 12 people saved at the General Hospital and 1,000 tracts were given out! This ministry is mainly for the ladies in our church and they Really do a good job talking to people in a very caring way and then showing them the Gospel and telling them how they can get saved. Please pray for the dear people that get saved because many times we don’t see them again. We try to get as much information as possible from them, including email address to stay in touch and email them Bible Studies. But many times the only thing we can get in their names since they don’t have a way to receive regular mail in their little communities in the mountains. We pray for them all of the time that they will find a good Bible teaching church. We have seen hundreds saved since the beginning of the year and over 20,000 tracts given just at this hospital.

3 saved on Sunday!

Thursday we had to fly out to the States for a quick trip and we came back to Puebla today (Monday). It seems that every time we are gone our church gets packed! We had on Sunday a full house with 4 first time visitors and 3 people that got saved!

Thank you for praying for Rachel as she is doing much better with her finger. (Someone threw a rock at it last week)

Nicole and the kids are doing fine. Caitlyn, our baby girl, is almost a year old on June 28. And in few day Nicole and I will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary!

Pray for Bro. Raul Castillo, the man that help us with the Christian Magazine El Fundamentalista, he was traveling in Torreon last week with his brother and a group of men, on a black Suburban, stopped them with large machine guns and granades, and asked them (not very politely of course) to get in the suburban. As this was happening, the police was driving by and the armed man quickly got on their car and left them unharmed. What would have happened if they got in the car with them? I think they would have killed him and his brother that was traveling with him. Please pray for them and please pray for our safety, as this happens more and more in the northern States. Puebla still a nice place to live, and we don’t want to have to go back to the States because of the crime.

Thank you and God bless you.

Preaching in Mexico City

Preaching in Mexico City

Few months ago, Missionary in Mexico City, Brother Clint Rardin invited me to preach for his Missions Conference. Yesterday my wife, our two little girls, and I got on our fifteen passenger van and drove a little over two hours from Puebla to Mexico City. Driving in Mexico City is not that easy, but with the help of maps, and an Iphone that has GPS, it was easier than ever. My wife did most of the looking (at the GPS) while I did the driving. 🙂

As some of you know, I was born in Mexico City, but I really don’t like driving there, much less living there. I praise God for those that have given their lives to reach the city where I was born… few years ago! Also, I rejoice to know that there are more and more that are reaching this — some called the biggest city in the world — city! During the conference yesterday I met some pastors that are already doing a good job starting churches here. They graduated from Bro. Kevin Wynnes’ Bible institute. One of them is in Apizapán, and the other one is in Delegación Madero I believe. I am sorry, as I don’t have the names of these faithful servants.

Today I had the privilege to preach again. (I preached last night after their missions banquet too). We had a good number of people. The auditorium was filled and I believe there were 4 or 5 visitors. I think two people got saved! There was even one baptism. Their church building is beautiful and is right behind Walmart and Sam’s Club Toreo. Their location is perfect and they have room to grow. They could probably fit 300 one day! Today they maybe had over 150.

Bro. Clint Rardin and his wife are from the same Bible Institute my wife went to, Fairhaven Baptist College, so it was good for Nicole to be able to spend some time with them.

After church, Bro. Clint took us out to eat next to Sam’s, to a restaurant that is well known here in Mexico called VIPS Restaurant Toreo.

After lunch we said bye to them and started to head back to Puebla. Nicole keyed the directions to go back to Puebla, but something really funny happened. The GPS enabled phone now said that it will take us 1 day and 4 hours to get back!!! I though… either the phone is wrong, or there is a LOT of traffic to get back to Puebla. We started driving and obviously the GPS was giving us the wrong directions. I told Nicole that something was wrong. To make sure to check the settings. That is when she realized that it was giving us “walking directions” to Puebla, and not “driving directions”.  After she changed the settings, voila, Puebla all of a sudden was 2 hours away!!! They should make an app that says: Hey… you are either running very fast or are on a car, but this is not walking!! Or that says: I am sorry, but it appears that you are cheating and you for SURE are not Walking! — you get the idea.

Anyway. We made it 10 minutes before church in Puebla. I had the blessing to blessing to preach to my dear people and I sure enjoyed it! Bro. Abraham preached while I was gone Sunday morning and Bro. Juan Caserez thought Sunday School. My brother-in-law Alejandro right now is in Chicago visiting his brother Cristian who just graduated from Bro. Elmer Fernandez Bible Institute in Elgin, IL. Pray for us as we are taking a quick trip this Wed. to Dallas, TX. Also, pray for our church as tomorrow we are going to the State Fair here in Puebla and will try to give 20,000 gospel tracks over a period of five days. Thank you!

Arturo Muñoz, Pastor Luis Parada and Pastor Luis Ramos

Arturo Muñoz, Pastor Luis Parada and Pastor Luis Ramos

This last Monday we started our Biggest Conference of the Year which is our “Conferencia de los Fundamentos.” This year we invited Pastor Luis Ramos from San Luis Potosí, Pastor Luis Parada from Long Beach, CA, and Pastor Alejandro Córdova from Celaya, Guanajusto. It was a great Bible conference to say the least. God blessed in a tremendous way and we had many testimonies from people that came from afar and also people from our own church that the conference was a big blessing for their lifes. We started our conference Monday afternoon with two preachings and continued with five sessions on Tuesday morning and two more preachings on Tuesday night. We had the same schedule for Wednesday. We spent over $25,000 pesos but it was well worth it. At the beginning of the conference we only had like $500 pesos and God provided exactly what we needed for the whole conference. I don’t know the exact number that we had every night, but it was probably close to 250 people. We were hoping to have over 350, but still God moved in a marvelous way. I would like to thank all of you that knew about our conference and that were praying for us.

Now that the conference is over, we are getting ready to start our building plan. We have over $13,000 dollars to do this and we are excited about expanding our auditorium. We know that it is going to be a challenge and we ask you to pray for this as well. If you would like in any way to help with this, please let me know. Every dollar counts! As well as every prayer! We will be updating you with our progress and we hope to finish this as soon as possible. Today we had over 160 people in church and there was no room to seat everybody in our small auditorium.

Mother’s Day

Baptist Church Mother's Day

In Mexico, Mother’s day is celebrated on May 10th. Every year we invite all the mothers to come and spend a special day in our church. Today we had 46 mothers! Many of them were brought to church by Mrs. Medel, the lady that I spoke of on our last update. And every year we have two or three special gifts that we randomly give away to them. Two year ago we had a huge big nice microwave! This year we had over $100 dollars worth of gifts. Some small gifts include a nice 6×8 picture with a beautiful background and a Bible verse. We also give them one rose to each one of them. And then the three special gifts: A nice mirror with a light, a set of pans, and a set of pirex glass bowls, which we bought at Costco here in Puebla. Well… One of the special gifts went to Mrs. Medel — the lady I told you about last week — I believe God rewarded her efforts and faithfulness. Another special gift went to Mrs. Tere, which help Mrs. Medel with the Bible club that they teach every Saturday. (God also rewarded her sacrifice and love for the kids.) And the last gist went to a lady that has been faithful to our church for over a year now. She told me, Pastor, can I take the mirror home. I just like it! I said, if your ticket gets picked, you can take it! … and guess what happened? She won the mirror that she wanted, and she was very excited and happy!

Today we had two first time visitors and one man saved!

Please pray for me, as this Saturday and Sunday I am going to Mexico City to preach a missions conference with Bro. Clint Rardin.

Bon-Fire In Our Church And Destroying CDs

Bon-Fire In Our Church And Destroying CDs

Today we had an exciting evening. We had a bon fire at our church after our evening church service. It all started with my wife Nicole teaching our Sunday School teenage girls two weeks ago. She mentioned that we needed to get rid of our worldly possessions and let God use them more effectively. I also preached for the last two weeks about leaving the worldly things and follow Jesus completely. It all started to build up and today we decided to to a bon fire at the church. Since we don’t have a lot of space for an actual bon fire, we also brought small wooden sticks and burn them at the outside patio that we have in our church grounds. Everyone wrote the sin that wanted to leave on the piece of wood and we made a small fire. A lot of our young people brought their music CDs, movies, cassette tapes, and some clothes that were immodest. (I did not see what kind of clothes were inside some of the bags, but I am pretty sure they were immodest.) Instead of burning the CDs, we destroyed them with our own hands and threw them in the trash. We had two big trash bags full of all of the the things that our church people brought. It was a fun evening and I think we are going to do this once a year.

In the morning we had a good church service with lots of people in attendance. We had close to 140 people in church. Bro. Alejandro Ruiz who is my assistant and brother-in-law preached a good sermon during Sunday School. He said that he prayed for a teaching and God gave him a sermon instead. He preached about Living The Best You Can For God Today – in Spanish. It was a good message.  If any of you would like a copy in Spanish let me know and I will send you one via email.

In the evening, besides having our bon-fire, we also had Bro. Fidel Silva Pablo missionary to Bolivia present his ministry and preach to us. If any of you are looking to support a missionary in Bolivia, he would be a good choice. He went to Bolivia 10 years ago with $400 dollars-a-month-support. He is doing a good job there. He is a soulwinner and is doing a tremendous work in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Bro. Silvio After Thowing The Bowl

Bro. Silvio After Thowing The Bowl

Saturday we had a married-couples bowling here in Puebla. We had two couples that had never bowled before. It was fun to see them play and have fun. One of them, Bro. Silvio and his wife, had been coming to our church for a little over a month now. His wife found us online and started to listen to the preaching of our church online. She came to church and brought her husband a two weeks after. Her husband had never been in a Christian church and got saved! Now they are coming very faithful to our church services. Please pray for them as they grow in the Lord. And Bro. Silvio, ended up winning in bowling with a score of 107.

Please pray for the nice of one of our church members. Her name is Aranza and she is having open-heart-surgery this Wednesday. She is a year and a half.

This morning we had two first-time-visitors and one of them got saved!

Our son Japheth turned 10 last Monday! and this coming  May we are going to be here in Puebla for 10 years now! Wow, time just goes very fast. This reminds me that we need to double our effort to reach our city and country for Christ.

Thank you and God bless you.

Youth Activity Camping 2010

God has blessed us with a wonderful youth group. We have about 35 young men and women that attend our Sunday School class every Sunday. Alejandro Ruiz, who is the youth pastor is doing a tremendous job.  Last Friday some of the men went camping to a place named “Ex Hacienda de Chautla”, which is about 45 minutes from Puebla. There is a nice lake, with lots of fish, and some cabins and a place for camping.  They had a great time there. They did some fishing, cooked some fish, and also barbecue some hamburgers. As good baptists they had to have some good meals, right? Saturday morning they got up early to have some personal devotions and some preaching. After that they play soccer almost all day. Also, I took the young girls to the campground early Saturday, and they had more activities together, while I went back to Puebla in time for our soulwinning activity with the church.

I went soulwinning with a young men of our church named Oscar. I asked Oscar how he was doing in school. How far till he finished high school and so on. He said that this is his last year. And he gave me some great news that he would like to be a Pastor and would like to start a church here in Mexico! He is planning to go to the States to attend Bible college. He doesn’t know where to go yet, but I was able to recommend some places he could go. Please pray for him as he finishes high school and get prepared to go to Bible college in the States.

Oscar’s family is an amazing family. His older brother came to Puebla about ten years ago, from a little town in the mountains of the state of Guerrero (about 5 hours from here). Oscar has six more brothers and one sister. They are a total of eight plus the mom and dad. After the older brother came to Puebla, the next in line also decided to come to Puebla to go to school here. Now the dad and the mom needed to make a decision. Either stay in Tlapa, where they lived all of their lives, or come to Puebla with the rest of the children, and give them a good education and make sure they also attended a good church. Well, they decided to move to Puebla, rented a little house, and now they are attending our church. This is very uncommon, to see a whole family move to a different town for their children’s sake.

Sunday we had a great day. We had four first time visitors. One of them got saved during the invitation. Also, Sunday night we had the Lord’s Supper and my daughter Rachel took it for the first time, and she was very excited about this. (She got baptized two months ago).

Our church is getting ready for our Missions Conference coming up in two more weeks. We are having Bro. Bob Ross from Windsor Hills Baptist Church come to preach during this time. We are also planning to give 50,000 tracks during the Day of the Dead here in Puebla. And next week we are having a 24 hr Prayer Chain for one whole week. We can see that God will do wonderful things during this time!

After the Missions Conference we are taking a little break in California. Once a year we visit our in-laws during Thanks Giving and we are also ready for this. If you are in California and would like us to present our ministry in your church, please let me know. We would love to visit your church and tell you what God is doing in our dear country of Mexico.

07 Jun 2010

Well, last week baby #7 wanted to be born. Only wanted. I had to take Nicole to the hospital Monday morning and Doctor Berta Gil with some IVs stopped her contractions. At that time Nicole was 32 weeks pregnant. She also got some shots (I guess that is how they are called) to help the baby’s lungs to develop faster. Our one night hospital stay was not inexpensive, but it was worth it.

Please continue to pray for Nicole as she is back to complete bed-rest. We are praying that God will allow us to go two more weeks and then have our beautiful baby girl. We even have a name for her: Catlin! We are still searching for a second name. If you have any suggestions let us know!

Ministry

Our church in doing very good praise the Lord! Last week we had 22 people visiting our church for the first time. I even had the opportunity to talk to a young couple that arrived late Sunday night. They said that they wanted to see how a Christian church was like. She was already a Christian, but he wasn’t. So, I took him to my office and witnessed to them. After 20 or 25 minutes, we kneeled down and pray for God to save him! It was a very exciting week. So many visitors and finishing up the day telling a young man how to get saved! It cannot get better than that. Of course, the following day we had to go to the hospital… the story is above.

Bible Insitute

On May 30th we had our graduation for our Bible Institute. My brother-in-law Alejandro graduated that day. We had a good time during the service Sunday night. My sister Aglaee said some words to him in front of the church. Very encouraging to say the least, with some tears and proud of her husband.

Alejandro has helped us in the church full time since last summer. He is an electrician, and before he started to serve in the church full time, it was difficult for him to even attend the Bible institute. Praise the Lord everything worked out for him to work in the ministry and now he graduated with a good spirit and good grades!

Our Other Students

This week we had our seven students back from different Bible Institutes. It is a joy to see so many of our youth serving the Lord. Bro. Alejandro is our Youth Pastor and he is doing a tremendous job! Last Sunday they started a competition between them to see who brings more people and wins more souls. Of course, the main objective is to keep them busy this summer while they have fun serving the Lord. We have about 35 young people in our church and most of them are involved in the ministry. Please pray for them so that this summer the stay focus serving God.

School Of The Prophets

While in Bible College, (Oklahoma Baptist College), I had the opportunity to participate in something called School of the Prophets. This is a special even in Bible College were we gathered one Saturday a month to preach the word. Two groups of 10 young preacher boys were selected randomly to preach for 5 minutes. This was always lots of fun! So, in our church here in Puebla, we did the same thing. We selected 7 preachers and some not, to preach for 7 minutes on Sunday night. It was great to hear some of them preach for the first time. And others preach salvation and actually see some people saved. We hope to have this maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for:

  1. Nicole’s Pregnancy
  2. Protection for our family in Mexico
  3. $20k to expand our church auditorium
  4. Land next door to be available (about 350 square meters)
  5. Money for El Fundamentalista magazine (read by about 10,000 people)

Church Activity - Married Couples Bowling

Church Activity - Married Couples Bowling

Last Saturday we had the opportunity to go bowling for the first time with the married couples of our church. At least we have two good bowling allies in Puebla and they are 100 yards apart. We had 5 couples that went and we had a blast! Many of them had never been bowling before.

Also, every other month, we have a Married Couples Reunion at someones house. This time we are going to be with Bro. Tim Aguiar. He kindly invited us to his house (I kind of asked him). What we do is that we get together at 7 PM and we have a devotional for one hour. And really is not the whole hour. We take time to get to know each other better, specially if we have one married couple that comes to this gathering for the first time. Then, the last 30 minutes, normally I teach them how to have a better marriage. And sometimes, I ask someone that has a good home to give a Bible study. After the hour, we have a special meal, made by our hosting family. This is always fun, because it gives the family an opportunity to serve, and gives us an opportunity to eat a good meal!

Married Couples Bowling - Bro. Alejandro Making a Spare

Last Sunday was a good Sunday

We had 3 ladies accepting Christ as their personal Savior! One of them stayed with our soulwinner for over half an hour and then I talked to her for another half hour. Her name is Veronica Castro. She is in the middle of divorcing her husband. They have been married for 8 years, but he does not want to be with her any more since they can not have babies. Pray that her home will not get destroy and that they will be able to have family.

Our Song Director with his son

Bro. Abraham Singing With His Son Abdiel

Bro. Abraham Singing With His Son Abdiel

This time we had the blessing to have Bro. Abraham and his son singing a special. It was quite a blessing to see them both singing for the Lord. I hope to see more of this in future specials – families singing together. Bro. Abraham has been leading songs for the last three years in our church. He is a real blessing. Always has a good attitude. The devil almost destroyed their family about two years ago, but they kept being faithful to God and God has blessed them for that. They just had their third child, and two weeks ago we presented him to the church.

Soulwinning with Nicole

Again, last Saturday I had the privilege to go out soulwinning with my wife. This time we met a lady named Elizabeth. I was able to talk to her while my wife listened and my son Japheth played with her 8 year old son. Japheth did a very good job in making a friend. By the time we had prayed, the two kids were best friends. I hope they will come to church because of this, and a real desire to please the Lord.

Our friend Miguel getting saved

This week also happened two things very unusual. My sister and my brother-in-law, after returning to their house last Wednesday night, had someone asking them how to get saved. A lady named Guadalupe knocked on their door minutes after they arrived. She asked them out of the blue on HOW TO GO TO HEAVEN! My sister Aglaeé took the time and showed her from the Bible how she could know for sure how to go to Heaven.

The next unusual thing, is that we also have a friend named Miguel. We have witnessed to him many time. We have invited him to church many times. And the same thing happened. Out of the blue, he asked Bro. Aguiar about HOW TO GET SAVED! He said he was tired of the life that he was living and wanted to change it! He got saved last Tuesday and on Wednesday he came to church and gave his profession of faith. To say the least, we are very happy for Miguel.

Crowd at the gym in Rincon de Romos

Crowd at the gym in Rincon de Romos

This last Saturday we went to Aguascalientes. Pastor Juan Padilla invited me to preach at his Family Conference. Pastor Danny Ortiz from Texas was also there Thursday and Friday. By the way, if you can pray for his wife… when he arrived from Mexico on Saturday, he had to take his wife to the ER and she had to have surgery. Pray that she will get better. (I don´t have the details of what happened).

Anyway, it took us 6 hours to get there. To go to Querétaro is now very easy using the Arco Norte. (A new toll road from Puebla, to Querétaro – skipping Mexico City, and costs $255 pesos, about $22 dollars) From Puebla to Querétaro is about 3 hours. And from Querétaro to Aguascalientes another 3 hours. The church is located in Rincón de Romos, AGS, about 30 minutes north of the city of Aguascalientes.

Pastor Padilla asked the city if they could use the municipal gym, and the city major gave them permission to use it! It is very nice and big. Almost like a US basquetball gym. We arrived 10 minutes before the service started! We had a good service at the gym. Two or three other churches came to the conference. While I was preaching a saw a men holding his face and crying for what I was saying. Later that day, the Pastor said that he is the husband of a dear lady that is just starting to come to church. They have been praying for him to come to church and they were very excited that he came for the conference. Many decisions where made that night.

The following day I thought and preaching during the morning service. We ate at the church, and had some time to rest before the service for Sunday night. At 6 pm we were back and preached again about the family. I preached from 2 Kings 20.15 where the Bible says: “What have they seen in thine house?” Mainly I said that our children need to see less worldliness and more holiness – and love.

After church we went to eat some good, very good tacos. This tacos are recommended by Bro. Clark Paquette. (We were staying at their house during this time, since they are away for furlough and they have a very nice extra-rooms outside the house. I believe they are coming back to Mexico in June.)

On our way back, I decided to go a different route. We went to San Luis Potosí first, and then Querétaro. This added an extra hour to hour driving, but we were not in a hurry. 45 minutes after Querétaro, before taking the Arco Norte, we stopped at McDonald’s for one whole hour. Our 6 kids were very happy. Interestingly, it is the only McDonald’s from the border that you see in the freeway. (There are many McDonald’s in the cities, but not many on the freeways). We have another McDonald’s right when you get to Puebla. And maybe 6 or 7 more McDonald’s in the city of Puebla.

Overall, we saw people saved, make decisions for the Lord and we had a good time on our trip to Aguascalientes. Nicole is doing good and she had no complications during the trip. While we were gone, Bro. Abraham preached at 8:30 AM, Bro. Ivan thought Sunday School (about the curse of credit cards) at 10 AM and Bro. Alejandro preached at 11 AM. In the afternoon Bro. Alejandro preached again at 6 PM. You can see our live feed video on Sundays at this hours (only if there is a time difference for you – we don’t want you to miss church for us!)

Last Thursday night Bro. Tim Aguiar and I visited Cesar and Soco. They just got married in December and are now attending our church Sunday nights. Bro. Tim called me on Sunday while we were in Aguscalientes to let me know that they came for the first time on Sunday morning. They even signed up to the bowling activity that we are having for married couples in few more days.

And last Friday night Bro. Tim and I visited a family that I had visited 8 years ago when we first arrived in Puebla! The first time I visited them, they told me that they wanted to come to our church because there was a lot of gossip in their church! It turn out that the other church was a good church. I told them that the only reason to leave a good church is that if the Pastor was having an affair or was teaching heresy. At that time, we only had 5 people in our church and we really needed more people to come to our church, but we did what was right. We meed again after 8 years! They told me that they decided to stay in the other baptist church. Then after 3 years, the Pastor left and they also left the church (the new Pastor is not baptist). Then they visited many other churches and got really frustrated because they were use to a good independent Fundamental Baptist church. Finally, they found our church and started to come. When I saw them, them seemed familiar, but it wasn’t until we visited them that I knew I knew them! And they live literally 5 blocks from our church! They never say they never saw our church before because the bus that they take to work doesn’t go by our church. Anyway, they are very happy with us now. They will start a disciple ship program in about 3 more weeks. Please also pray for them. They are the Velazco family. We only had to wait 8 years for this good family to come to our church.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to Tulancingo, Hidalgo and visit the church Iglesia Bautista La Zarza. Pastor Miguel Angel Gomez asked me to preach for a Special Sunday. Our drive from Puebla was very nice, considering that now we can travel on a new highway called Arco Norte. Before, to go to Tulancingo, it would take about 4 hours. (Tulancingo is North of Puebla) This time it took us 2 hours to get there.

At 7:30 AM we stopped to pick up a dear family – the Andrade Family. Two years ago we celebrated at our church their 50th wedding anniversary. We arrived at 9:45 AM and had breakfast with the pastor and his family. Something very common in this State is that you find Barbacoa everywhere (slowly-cook lamb meat). So we had some of this. Our kids mostly had tamales, but my son Japheth really liked the barbacoa.

After eating a delicious breakfast we went to the church. Church services start at 11:00 AM. The reason is because many of the farmers don’t have time to make it at 10:00 AM or earlier since they work in the fields. So, what they do is have the main preaching service at 11:00 AM and then, they stop to eat between 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Then they have Sunday School at 2:00 PM. Church is over around 4:00 PM.

While preaching or teaching Sunday School, there was a very strong storm with a lot of wind. The roof is made of metal sheets, and for a moment I thought we were going to lose it. It was pouring, and very windy. It all lasted for about 20 minutes. But after church ended, we went outside and it was already sunny and peaceful.

Many decisions were made during the invitation. Many surrendered to start soulwinning again. And 3 gave their lives for full time service, either as missionaries or pastors. Overall, God blessed our trip to this town. My brother-in-law preached in the church in Puebla. He is Aglaee’s husband and did a good job. You can listed to him preach in Spanish here.

Nicole is doing fine with her pregnancy. Last week we went to have an ultrasound, and after see the doctor. Ultrasounds here in Mexico are 350 pesos… About $30 dollars. And our visit to the doctor is $500 pesos. About $45 dollars. We have an excellent doctor. Her name is Bertha Gil ans she has delivered all of our kids, except Japheth – who was born in San Diego, CA. When we first met her, we asked her if she could give us a discount, since we wanted to have 7 children. She agreed! and now, every time we have a baby, she charges us the same she did 8 years ago (about $1,000 dollars – not including the hospital which is about another $1,000 dollars) Anyway, the doctor visit went fine. Nicole is out of Bedrest! but still, she needs to take care of herself. This time Nicole was able to witness to her for about 30 minutes! Pray for her so she can get saved. She was impressed with Nicole’s testimony.

Last week we had two people added to our church! Actually, two of our church members had babies. Bro. Abraham and his wife Lili had a baby girl, and Bro. Ivan and his wife Selene had a baby boy. Bro. Ivan also helped preach last Sunday morning – and Sunday night they had their little girl.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
