On June 1st, we left our beloved church in Puebla and took an Aeromexico flight from Mexico City to Reynosa, Tamaulipas. (Reynosa is a Mexican city that is right on the border.) Then Pastor Tim Aguiar picked us up in a Suburban at the airport.
We had a lot of luggage, but all of our 18 suitcases and 10 backpacks made it inside the car! That same day we crossed the border without any problems. We finally arrived at Weslaco, TX where Pastor Tim put us in a hotel for few days.
The next day after arriving in Texas, we began searching for a 15-passenger van for our family. Many of you know that due to Covid and the lack of some computer chips, there is a shortage of cars. That made it harder for us to find a van at a good price but thank goodness we found a 2015 Ford Transit! The only problem was that they couldn’t deliver it to us until 10 days later!
During those 10 days, we drove to Longview, TX, (about 9 hours), where Pastor Bob Gray found an excellent family for us to stay with: The Maxwell’s. They fed us every day and took good care of us! Then I flew to a Men’s Conference in Albuquerque, NM. After the conference, I flew back to McAllen, TX to pick up the van and finally drove 9 hours back to Longview, TX to meet my family again. It was quite an adventure but thank God we now had a van!
Thank God some churches have already promised to support us. Among them is Bethesda Baptist Church, Pastor Daniel Jones in McAllen, TX and Bella Vista Baptist Church, Pastor Matt Hudson in Albuquerque, NM.
This month we will be visiting churches in California and in Washington state. Please keep praying for us as we visit more churches.
